 Specific Responsibilities

Provide Contracts Administration and Contract Management support to assigned areas of the project under the direction of the Senior Contracts Advisor/commercial manager:

  1.  Prepare and issue Tender and contract documentation;
  2. Call for tenders and quotations for construction, services and consultancies;
  3. Evaluate Tender and quotation responses;
  4. Assist negotiation of contractual terms and agreements with the successful vendors and suppliers,
  5. Make recommendations for award of contracts;
  6. Oversee the execution of contracts;
  7. Administer and manage contracts in accordance with principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian or International Standards and contract law;
  8. Provide advice to project teams concerning contractual matters including claims for variation, progress claims, extensions and disputes;
  9. Analyse and manage commercial risk to the project;
  10. Assist with communication between the project and it’s providers in order to deliver products and services according to the project plan;
  11. Manage internal & external contractual stakeholder relationships and influence others to achieve outcomes;
  12. Assist in the continuous improvement of contract management processes, policies, procedures and systems;
  13. Regularly liaise/communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance of contracts to management and client; and
  14. Maintain records of contractor performance;
  15. Management of physical contract files and corresponding contract on line system records to ensure data integrity and accuracy, to correct inaccuracies, and to ensure data adheres to company or client policies and requirements;
  16. Such additional duties of a similar complexity as may be reasonably assigned by the Senior Contracts Advisor or the Contracts Manager; and
  17. May have supervisory responsibility as determined by the Contracts Manager.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Ability to form & foster collaborative relationships within the business and externally
  2. Understanding of and ability to follow Company & Client policies and procedures.
  3. Ability to administer and manage contracts in accordance with Company principles, practices and procedures and appropriate Australian or International Standards and contract law
  4. Ability to call for tenders and quotations for construction, services and consultancies
  5. Ability to provide advice and support to the project teams in negotiating, establishing and administrating contracts
  6. Understanding Company aligned contract management processes and ability to improve those contract management processes, policies, procedures and systems continuously
  7. Ability to communicate and consult with key stakeholders and report on performance of contracts to project teams and the Company
  8. Ability to oversee the execution and close-out of contracts
  9. Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage the demands of multiple assignments;
  10. The ability to respond in a timely, professional and comprehensive manner to project/client / manager directives and requests;
  11. Ability to delegate tasks and communicate
  12. Understanding HSE regulations and standards

 

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, law, commerce or comparable experience & previous experience on Projects.
